The Distracted Mom is a platform to provide readers with practical information and strategies for managing ADHD. Maintaining this blog and writing on this topic are passions of mine, however, running a blog does have its expenses – hosting, graphic licenses, time, and more.
It is important to me that you understand that I won’t ever write about a product or service that I don’t believe is beneficial to you, and I will tell you if I ever receive anything for writing a post (and if it makes sense to do so, I’ll probably host a giveaway afterwards).
The following are the commonly accepted forms of compensation for bloggers and how I handle them:
I am an affiliate for many (but not all) of the products and services that I recommend. That means when you click on the link on my site and purchase whatever product or service being offered I may receive a percentage of that purchase at no extra cost to you. I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, so any amazon.com links on my site provide me with a small commission for anything you buy through the link, whether it;s that product or anything else (so please, I encourage you to do your Christmas shopping through my links!). In full disclosure, I indicate in all of my posts whether or not they have affiliate links. At the beginning of each post with any affiliate links, you will see this statement, which means any links from there on out could be of an affiliate nature:
This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure policy here.
I also end all of these posts with this disclosure: Disclosure: Some of the links in the post above are affiliate links. This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive a small commission that helps support the site. I only link to products or services that I use or am very familiar with and that I would personally recommend to my readers. Read my full disclosure policy here.
Sponsored posts involve the exchange of free products for open and honest review. These may also use an affiliate link, but if I’m not convinced of its value, I will be clear about that in my review. I will never suggest that you buy something if I don’t think it’s worth it.
Companies occasionally offer monetary compensation to share personal experience trying a product or service. Again, I will only accept these offers if I believe they legitimately benefit you, and I will be clear about the nature of these posts.
I will begin these posts with the following statement, so you know exactly which posts are sponsored.
The following is a sponsored post, which means I am compensated in some form for writing it. However, I truly think you’ll enjoy what this company has to offer!
I will then end my posts with this disclosure, reminding you of my personal stance on sponsored products.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this product free from <blah blah business>. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Read my full disclosure policy here.

Your trust in The Distracted Mom as a resource for information and advice is important to me. If you ever have any questions about a product or service I write about, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will be completely transparent about any commission earned or partnership I may or may not have with the associated company. I promise you that any opinions or recommendations I make are mine alone and are made with you in mind.
